Children’s Care

At the Functional Medicine Center of Fort Collins, we provide care for chronic conditions, injuries, and overall wellness. Children tend to respond more positively to our treatments than adults because they have fewer ingrained habits and patterns that can prevent them from feeling their best. Children also typically have less scar tissue and wear and tear on their bodies.

We commonly treat children for lack of focus and attention, food allergies, sport-related injuries, and to help strengthen their immune system. Many times, we use a chiropractic adjustment to help fight off illnesses. The adjustment increases the white blood cell count which can help the child’s body to fight off disease or illness.

We begin with an assessment, similar to that of our adult patients, to learn about the child’s current health, any concerns, and goals. We then create a personal wellness plan that includes treatment that is completely safe and has been found effective for children. Our professional staff is experienced in treating children and we want only to provide them with a better quality of life and help steer them toward a positive and healthy future.

ADD/ADHD

Many times, parents bring their children into the Functional Medicine Center of Fort Collins for help when they are having trouble focusing and paying attention in class or are diagnosed with ADHD. The solutions provided by functional medicine are great for parents who want to avoid using prescription medications to treat their children. We have seen much success in treating children who suffer from ADHD.

c

Food Allergies

Functional medicine focuses on finding the cause of symptoms, not just treating the symptoms themselves, which is why it can be a great option for treating food allergies in children. Your child may display symptoms that are not obviously allergy-related, but with the help of the professional team at the Functional Medicine Center of Fort Collins, you will be able to decipher the cause. We view the body as one whole system and understand how the different parts interact with each other, which allows us to connect allergies to reactions even if they might not seem immediately related. With the help of functional medicine, your child can live a happier, healthier life.

Sports-Related Issues

At the Functional Medicine Center of Fort Collins, we commonly have parents bring their children in for treatment of sports-related issues and injuries. We offer a wide range of treatment options that cause little to no side effects and may be able to alleviate the need for your child to take prescription medications or even undergo surgery.

e

Immune System Function

One of the most common treatments that we use on children is chiropractic care. An adjustment can actually help children overcome an oncoming illness if it is caught early on. When a child undergoes an adjustment, it promotes the creation of white blood cells, which can help their body fight off infections.

General Health

At the Functional Medicine Center of Fort Collins, we focus on the big picture of our patient’s overall health, and that goes for children too. We see children every day that don’t suffer from food allergies, ADHD, or a sports injury but are interested in building and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. We understand that children have specific needs when it comes to diet, exercise, and living a healthy life, that’s why we create an individual wellness plan for each one of our clients. Each child has different needs and goals and we are here to make sure that those goals are achievable.
